About Data Pulse Tech

Data Pulse Tech LLC is a Virginia-certified small business headquartered in Ashburn, VA. We specialize in cybersecurity, software engineering, and DevSecOps solutions for federal agencies and defense contractors. Our team of professionals delivers mission-critical technology solutions across the Department of War. We move fast, solve hard problems, and build systems that matter.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support an active, production enterprise data platform serving a federal government sponsor. This role operates across both classified and unclassified environments and requires someone who owns their work end-to-end. You will handle real engineering challenges – container infrastructure, identity management, vulnerability remediation, and full-stack development on systems that government analysts depend on daily.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack application components in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React
  • Manage containerized application infrastructure using Docker and AWS ECS/Fargate
  • Administer identity management systems, including Keycloak, SSO configuration, and integration with identity providers
  • Build and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK and CloudFormation
  • Maintain OpenSearch/Elasticsearch clusters, including index management and performance tuning
  • Own code synchronization workflows in both environments
  • Coordinate directly with stakeholders on technical priorities and delivery
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives
  • Write clean, well-documented, testable code and contribute to technical documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance – no exceptions, no sponsorship
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps experience
  • Strong Python development skills with solid JavaScript/TypeScript proficiency
  • AWS experience across core services: ECS, EC2, RDS, OpenSearch, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM
  • Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or CloudFormation
  • Docker and container lifecycle management
  • Experience with Keycloak or comparable identity/SSO platforms
  • Security vulnerability assessment and remediation at the container and application layer
  • Proven ability to work independently on customer locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the government or the Department of War (DoW) programs
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CDK, ECS/EKS)
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST 800-53, RMF, STIGs)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation)
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent
  • Experience with data analytics platforms, search technologies, or identity management (Keycloak, OAuth/OIDC)

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Opportunity to work on meaningful, mission-critical programs
  • A small company where your contributions are visible and valued – not buried in bureaucracy
  • Professional development support and training opportunities
  • Comprehensive Benefits
